  • process standards (i.e. performing a foot exam or eye exam for a diabetic patient)
  • outcome standards (i.e. achieve a blood pressure ≤139/89 for patients with hypertension)

Poor Performances Across the Nation

When asked, most of the physicians who have not measured their success rates believe that they are achieving the evidence-based standards significantly more than half the time. However, when care is researched in community or academic practices, the finding for physicians across the U.S. are considerably lower, such as:

  • ~35% success for hypertension
  • ~1-4% of patients with diabetes achieve the core three or five outcomes including BP, A1c, LDL, aspirin or anti-thrombotic therapy and are non-smokers,
  • one out of 12 patients properly assessed and treated for osteoporosis
  • one out of 14 patients with asthma is receiving care at the EBS

Working with physicians in community practice over six years, MediSync’s team of quality experts has been able to support vastly superior outcomes results. These results have, in turn, produced significantly better patient outcomes and much higher compensation rates from payers.
