Achieving Superior Outcomes

There are two, basic steps for any medical group to achieve superior medical outcomes.  The first step is to create the methods that will increase outcomes. The second step is to implement the methodologies that were selected so that they are adopted by all physicians.

If you survey physician groups that are actively involved in medical quality initiatives, you can see a wide variety of approaches to medical quality improvement. These include detailing physicians about the evidence-based standards, adopting reminders on paper or in an EHR, hiring nurses and others to review charts, expanding the care team (sometimes called the Medical Home), etc.                                TreatRight logo

"Stalling Out" After Initial Improvements

If you survey the vast majority of the physician groups that are actively pursuing quality you will also notice that many tend to make an initial improvement and then tend to “stall out” after improving 10-25%.

MediSync’s success in collaboration with community-based physicians has been to pierce the known “upper limits” of success. We have accomplished this after hundreds of thousands of dollars spent learning Lean Six Sigma and additional hundreds of thousands of dollars spent in personnel who had the time and resources to design, test, implement and improve methods that achieve nationally-remarkable quality outcomes on large panels of patients.

Proof that Higher Quality Pays

This has, in turn, brought significant rate increases and significant numbers of new patients to our partner medical groups, proving that higher quality medicine pays.
